The Perfect Storm

We’ve been trying to sell our home in Idaho for the last year so we could move closer to the grand kids. Well, it finally sold and we’re now living in our RV while we wait for the new home to be renovated before we move in at the end of July.

Wouldn’t you know it, the offer to buy our home came in just after Marcus added CTR2-MIDI to several of his iOS and MacOS apps and orders really took off. The perfect storm!

Update on our moving progress

We took possession of our new home on July 12 and have been busy since then repainting most of the house. New flooring is being the week of July 22 and we are scheduled to move our belongings from Idaho on Saturday, July 27. I’ve ordered PCBs and parts and will hopefully begin building units for the order queue around August 1.

All new orders will be placed in a first-in/first-out queue. No payment or deposit will be required to hold your place in the queue.

I’ve also made the decision to temporarily stop selling CTR2-Micro kits and assembled units, their associated radio interface cables, and CTR2-Voice units until I get caught up with CTR2-MIDI orders in August. They show as Out of Stock here and have been removed from the order form. These items were put together after they were ordered and the components are now in storage so I won’t be able to build new units or cables until after the shop is put back together.

I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may caused.

International Orders – UPDATE

I have used USPS 1st Class Parcel for international shipments up until now because they are substantially cheaper that other carriers. Unfortunately, around June 15 they experienced a database failure that caused most of the international orders I sent out between June 15 to July 8 to be returned to me because the tracking #s THEY ISSUED showed as previously used. To add to the problem, we recently moved so my old post office is forwarding returned orders to my new post office and that is causing additional delays and even more confusion. I’ve been spending a tremendous amount of time trying to resolve these issues.

As of July 24 things have started to calm down a little. I opened a tech support case on 8 of the orders that have been returned to me and USPS immediately issued refunds for those shipping costs. I was then able to recreate new shipping papers and tracking #s on those orders and get them back in the mail to the customers that have been so patient through this mess. The new tracking #s don’t show any previous tracking history so I’m hoping USPS is back on track. I’m still waiting on another 11 units to show up. Unfortunately our move means that returned units go back to the Lava address and then get forwarded down to our new house in Utah, adding an additional level of complexity (i.e. delays).

I am fairly confident that once I get back into production the international shipping issues will have been worked out and I can go back to business as usual (fingers crossed).
