The US Postal Service (USPS) has recently changed the way it handles international shipments.
Previously, duties, tariffs, and taxes (i.e. “landed cost fees”) were collected by the post service in the country the package was sent to, before the package was delivered.
Recently, USPS has negotiated with several countries to collect these fees from the shipper (i.e. me). As you know, these costs are substantial, and my shop has no way of calculating them when it creates the order.
The shop will charge a flat rate shipping fee for all orders, depending on the destination address. For international orders where I am required to pay the additional fees, I’ll send you a separate PayPal invoice for the actual international shipping cost and fees (minus the flat rate from the order), once I create the shipping label and have the final shipping costs.
I hope this makes sense. I know this is inconvenient for both of us, but it seems to be the world we live in now.
